These two photos are of a guinea pig from a Littlest Pet Shop collection. I chose a guinea pig because I have three guinea pigs that I take care of and, guinea pigs are the first animals my family has taken care of (that we actually need to feed, water, take care of, etc.). I chose to put the guinea pig in grass because that seems most like the tropical forest that guinea pigs usually live in. In the Guinea Pig photo, I tried to make the character itself more like a cartoon in a real life setting. I tried to achieve an opposite effect with the Wavy Grass photo.
These two photos are of a beetle from a Littlest Pet Shop collection. I chose a beetle because I think that beetles play a big roll in nature even though they are very small. In A Beetle In The Rocks, I tried to hide the beetle within the rocks surrounding it. Many beetles hide from bigger animals and are ver good at hiding under rocks, in mud, and under leaves. In A Blanket Of Leaves, I had a picture of the beetle resting in a pile of leaves. I created the surroundings of the beetle to be more soft and flow with each other while I made the beetle stand out. In the original photos, both of the backgrounds were of the same grey and brown tones.
These two pictures are of a snail from a Littlest Pet Shop collection. I chose a snail because when I was younger I used to love going into the woods and finding all of the snails I could. I would then pick them up and show them to everybody in my house. In the picture Snail Day, I tried to keep a realistic perspective. I tried to blend the snail with the grass around it. In the picture The Snail's Flower, I made a dark background while brightening the snail and the flower to create a point of focus.
These two pictures show a lizard from a Littlest Pet Shop collection. I chose a lizard because I think that lizards are very interesting creatures that can climb and stick to walls and regrow their tails. In the photo Desert Lizard, I tried to make the background seem as close to a desert setting. It was a hot day and the picture looks like there is lava at the bottom of the rock. In the picture Lake Sky, I tried to get a photo of the lizard climbing up a rock to get to it's final destination. The blue at the top of the picture I created to make it seem like there were waves in it so that it could be water.
These two pictures show a winged horse from a Littlest Pet Shop collection. I chose a winged horse because I used to play with My Little Pony figures. When I played with these toys, the most colorful, winged, and magically seeming 'pony' would be the queen of all of my ponies. This Littlest Pet Shop figure reminded me of the queen pony. In my picture A Queen In The Shade, I wanted to give this winged horse a special and brightly colored flower to provide shade as if it was in a royal chair. In my picture Royal Memories, I positioned the horse looking off into a painting. I think that paintings can help remember a memory and I wonder, if this horse was royalty, what did it go through to get there? I also darkened the shadow for a better effect.
